Legal Assistant
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across a wide range of legal practice areas, ensuring smooth operations and efficient case management. Responsibilities
• Assist attorneys and paralegals with case preparation, document review, and legal drafting across diverse practice areas.
• Draft contracts, pleadings, memos, correspondence, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
• Support project management tasks including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and tracking deadlines to ensure timely submissions.
• Perform administrative duties such as proofreading documents, transcribing recordings, maintaining client records, and answering phones with professionalism.
• Assist with document review for litigation cases and support document management systems for efficient workflow.
• Prepare legal binders.
• Manage attorneys’ calendars and maintain deadlines, hearings, and depositions
• Electronically file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents in state and federal courts, including New Jersey eCourts and PACER systems.
• Review and track ECF filings, confirmations, and court notification
Skills
• Strong knowledge of Litigation procedures. Bankruptcy is a plus.
• Proficiency in NetDocuments or similar document management systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Effective writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy.
• Strong communication skills for attorneys and client intake.
• 3+ years Legal Assistant experience in a fast-paced law office environment is highly desirable.

Bankruptcy Paralegal
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support in bankruptcy proceedings, ensuring smooth case management and adherence to legal standards. Your expertise will help streamline processes and facilitate effective communication with clients and courts. Duties
Bankruptcy Case Management
- Manage cases from inception through closing
- Prepare and file Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 petitions
- Draft schedules, Statements of Financial Affairs, and Chapter plans
- Prepare monthly fee statements and interim/final fee applications
- Draft and file First Day pleadings
Legal Drafting & Research
- Perform legal research and summarize legal documents
- Draft pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, charts, and proofs of claim
- Review and summarize pleadings, court dockets, and case documents
Litigation & Trial Support
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation
- Coordinate exhibits, trial notebooks, and demonstratives
- Organize files and trial materials
Adversary Proceedings
- Prepare and file adversary complaints
- Draft default papers and settlement agreements
- Assist with preference, fraudulent transfer, and recovery actions
Administrative & Client Support
- Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, court appearances, and meetings
- Manage attorney emails and communications
- Assist attorneys during client meetings
- Communicate with clients, trustees, creditors, and court personnel
- Prepare real estate closing packages
- Format and file pleadings in State Court, Bankruptcy Court, and District Court
Qualifications
- 2+ years of bankruptcy paralegal experience preferred
- Billable hour expectation
- Litigation and E-Discovery experience is a plus
- Experience with Chapter 7, 11, and 13 filings
- Knowledge of Best Case and NetDocuments software
- Familiarity with court filing procedures
- Ability and knowledge with electronic filings
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and deadline management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage high-volume caseloads

Senior-Level Associates
Trenk Isabel Siddiqi & Shahdanian P.C. is seeking well-qualified Senior-level associates to join its Livingston and Hackensack, New Jersey offices. The candidates must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial litigation, environmental law, land use and redevelopment, labor and employment, or municipal law. All interested candidates are required to submit a cover letter, resume, and writing sample.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of commercial litigation matters, including discovery, court appearances, depositions, motions, experts, and client management.
- Handle environmental matters involving air quality, environmental litigation, real estate, regulated lands, site remediation, solid waste, and water quality.
- Knowledge of land use and redevelopment procedures and rules, particularly as they pertain to securing land use and redevelopment approvals within the state.
- Knowledge in employment counseling, HR training & policies, employment litigation, and investigations.
- Experience in interacting with various municipal departments as well as applicable state regulatory agencies and knowledge in local government statues.
Qualifications:
- Excellent researching skills.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Must be bar admitted in the State of New Jersey.
