William Rupp Celebrates 50 Years in Law

Trenk Isabel Siddiqi & Shahdanian is proud to announce that our friend, colleague and partner William Rupp is celebrating 50 years in service as a practicing attorney. We are so proud of his many achievements. We all enjoyed Bill’s speech at our celebratory dinner, which included observations such as:

“In my law school days at Rutgers, there were no computers or search engines. We used something known as books, and digests, pocket parts, Am Jur, ALR, Corpus Juris Secundum and Shepards.”

“Within a year of graduating law school and passing the bar, I was added as a partner to the law firm at which I clerked. We had all the latest in modern office equipment. Selectric typewriters replaced the old standard typewriters. Carbon sets replaced the single sheets of carbon paper.”

“Despite the absence of today’s modern technological marvels, the practice of law was kinder and gentler. The pace was slower and less hurried. Attorneys treated each other more like colleagues rather than adversaries.”

“As practitioners of the law, we serve as the guardians of our civilization. We redress the wrongs, resolve disputes, protect the people’s rights, preserve the norms of society and shape the changes made to society. The practice of law is a privilege and a sacred trust.”
